Whenever the too much power is concentrated into the hands of too few the seeds of tyranny are planted and the God-given rights of the people threatened.
To live in a free society the people have individual rights and the responsibility to govern themselves. They are free to do whatever they want as long as the respect the lives, liberty and property of everyone else.
The proper role of government is to protect the rights of the people, not to protect and take care of them.
There is a tendency that men in positions of power will abuse their authority and exploit the people to satisfy their greed and lust for power. IN order to secures the rights to the people it is absolutely necessary for the people to hold the government officials accountable.

The authors of the Constitution understood that in order to secure the blessings of liberty, they would need limit the power of the government by writing a contract that would delegate to the national government a short list of enumerated powers.
If the Constitution were faithfully followed it would lead to peace, prosperity and freedom, but if government officials exceeded their Constitutional authority it would lead to tyranny.
It is the responsibility of the government officials to honor their oath and it is the responsibility of the people to hold them accountable. To the collective ignorance and apathy of the people we have allowed the men and women elected to be our servants to become our masters.

This reminds me of a college study done years ago where half of the students were convicts ‘in jail ‘ and the other half were the ‘guards.’ The study actually had to be shut down because the ‘guards ‘ took advantage of their ‘absolute power.’ This study has been done since by numerous colleges, the results were basically always the same outcome, many having to stop the study early again and again. Thank you Keith, for keeping us remembering that it’s US, that needs to reign in the power, Not the left
