Restoring the Checks and Balances
The House of Representatives was created to give the people a voice in government and the Senate was created to give the States a voice. One of the most important features written into the Constitution was the "Checks and Balances" with the bicameral legislature.
The United States was created to be a servant of the union of independent state Republics called America. It was not intended to be the master. With the unlawful and decidedly unconstitutional ratification of the 17th Amendment the states lost their voice in the legislature.
If the Senate was functioning properly, the states would have a voice in Congress whose responsibility was to the states and not political ambitions. They would be appointed instead of elected. This is important. If they are appointed, they can be recalled and replaced and not be yet another political body. Then perhaps they could make decisions to protect their state's rights, rather than having nine lawyers making those important decisions.
According to the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions, any act of Congress can be nullified by a state if the members of the respective state legislature determines that the law was unconstitutional.

The Constitution has been suspended since Marbury V Madison and McCulloch V MARYLAND.

I can see easily repeal the 16th and 17th amendments, but not the 14th as that was done by the founding fathers. I want to keep everything they did.
My favorite is 10.....The states should do what they want..... This is why I think I became Libertarian.. I am for liberty.

The 14th was done after the Civil war not by the Founders . . all or the so called protections for individuals are contained in other sections of the Constitution.
The 14th has been used by the Courts to render the 9th and 10th amendment inoperative. It is the worst of the lot.

I hope what you say is correct. If so why are the state legislators not doing their jobs? And we do not need the senate put in by the people, as most people are ignorant.

Changing the Constitution is not the going to change anything. John Adams said "The Constitution was written for a virtuous and moral people and totally inadequate for the governance of any other." The problem is not the words written on a piece of paper, it is the lack of virtue among the people. George Washington observed that "A corrupt people have more need of a master."
