Our Founding Fathers went to war with England rather than comply with royal proclamations issued by King George III. The King was deeply in debt and in order to solve the problem, he decided to issue a series of royal decrees in order to generate tax revenue from the American colonists.
Without the colonists' consent, the royal decrees violated the rights of English citizens. The Colonists knew that the King would continue to violate their rights as long as they remained silent. After many attempts to petition the King for a redress of grievances, the people finally decided to take action.
When the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution in 1787, it was their intent to prevent the President from abusing their rights as the King had done. They prohibited the President from creating his own laws by granting to Congress all legislative powers. By not properly doing their job properly, Congress has allowed the President to assume power that was not delegated to him in the Constitution..
An Executive Order is an unlawful order issued by the President that is applied to individuals that are not employees of the Executive Branch of government.
When this happens Congress has a duty to defend the Constitution and refuse to comply with unconstitutional orders.
Executive Orders like Royal Decrees violate the rights of the people. As long as “We the People” are silent, we will continue to see our presidents trample on the Constitution and our God given rights.
When a King issues a Royal Proclamation and a President issues an Executive Order, they have both violated the rights of the people.
