The adage that cheaters never prosper does not apply to . Congressmen. They allow lobbyists to write laws which benefit the corporations they represent at the expense of the people in their districts.
They turn their backs on their constituents and the Constitution when they support legislation that benefits the corporations at the expense of the people they represent. It is wrong for us to lie, cheat or steal, but our government officials do it every day.
They continue to get away with it because we allow it. Government employees are required to take an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution while behind our backs they have their fingers crossed.
The average representative elected to Congress in 2016 spent $1,600,000 to get elected to a job that pays $174,000 per year. I may not be a rocket scientist, but that just doesn't make sense.
