Up until the end of the Revolutionary War, Kings and the Queens ruled the colonies and owned everything including the lives and liberty of the people. The people were merely their subjects to the authority of their rulers. The American colonists created a nation where "We the People" became the rulers and the government became their servant.
In the Declaration of Independence it was announced to the world that all men and women were endowed by their creator with unalienable rights. The Founding Fathers stated that governments were instituted among men deriving their just power from the consent of the governed.
They believed that a person's life, liberty and property were sacred and the government was created to protect those rights. They understood that in order to protect the liberty and the property of the people the newly formed government would need to have limited powers in order to prevent the government from abusing the rights of the people that it was created to protect.
The colonists understood that the with the power to tax provide the central government with the power to take a portion of one's property in exchange for the protection offered by the government.
The Founders believed that each man and woman were born with the to be Kings and Queens and to have dominion over their lives and their property. The people were could do anything they wanted as long as they did not violate the life, liberty or property of someone else. That also believed that our nation was a community of sovereigns and the government was to take their orders from "We the People".
America became the land of opportunity and millions of immigrants came to America to partake in the American Dream. Everyone was welcome to come and enjoy the liberty if they were willing to assume the responsibility that with it. Obvious, we are Constitutionally obligated to accept all immigrants. We have every right to deny crimnals the right to immigrate.
Americans have been the most generous nation on the face of the earth. Requiring immigrants to enter our country legally is not an act of hatred, it is simply what sovereign nations do to protect their national sovereignty. Mexico does not allow Americans to immigrate to Mexico without first being screened. Americans that immigrate to Mexico are not eligible for foods stamps and discounted college tuition. If we roll out the red carpet and encourage unlimted immigratrion the American Dream will become a nightmare.
