According to the "Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment every person in every state has a right to be equally represented. Why is it that the people in New Hampshire have 400 representative and Maine with virtually the same population has 151 representatives.
New Hampshire has one representative for every 3,327 while Maine has one representative for every 8,803 and California has one representative for every 489,130 residents?
In order for everyone's vote to be counted the same every state legislative district needs to be the apportioned.
Twenty-Nine of the fifty states have one representative for less than 50,000 inhabitants while California has one representative for every 489,000. Texas has one representative for every 183,127 and Florida has one representative for every 168,927.
If the people in Florida were being equally represented with the people in Nebraska, Florida would have 560 representatives instead of 120.
