In the 1960 World Series the New York Yankees out scored the Pittsburgh Pirates by a margin of 55 to 27 in seven games but lost the series 4 games to 3.
Awarding theYankees the Championship because they outscored the Pirates makes as much sense as awarding Hillary Clinton the Presidency because she received more popular votes than Donald Trump,
The states and not the people elect the President. The states choose a slate of electors in proportion to their population. Each state gets 1 eector for every Congressioanl district and 2 electors for their 2 senators.
