The Cure is more Deadly than the Disease

In an effort to save the life of George Washington his doctors contributed to his premature death.

You can kill mosquitoes with dynamite, but the collateral damage would make the use of a fly swatter far less dangerous and far more intelligent.

Shutting down our economy to save lives is a cure far greater than the disease. Shutting down the economy may save thousands of lives, but it will leave millions of people adversely affected.
