Obedience or Education?

Dogs go to obedience school and so do our children.

Education is the process of transferring the knowledge and experience of the teacher to the students. Learning is the process of acquiring this knowledge. The problem is that government schools teach students what to think rather than  how to  learn. "Conventional wisdom" is another name for outright stupidity.

When government controls all curricula, students are only programmed. A government that can control what their people think will be able to control the lives, liberty and property of the people.

In order to become a doctor, a lawyer or an electrician a person needs to be trained in the principles of his or her chosen profession.

Students in public schools are for the most part taught information, but rarely are they taught to principles that will necessary to develop critical thinking skills.

In many cases the curriculum contains opinions that are  presented as facts. Students are frequently required to memorize useless information.

When studying historical events students are taught the who, the what, the where and when, but often times the why and the how are ignored or misrepresented.
