The system of electing our President, Senators and Representatives is extremely costly and enables the candidates with the most campaign contributions with a tremendous advantage. In the 2020 election over $14 billion dollars were spend by the candidates running for office. Most of the money came from Wall Street Corporations who consider financing the election of the Congressmen a prudent investment.
For every dollar invested, by corporate donors will ultimately receive reap a gigantic subsidies and tax breaks.
Candidates understand that in order to get elected, they need the financial support of corporate America and must sell their soul to the devil to win an election. As a result the candidates elected owe their allegiance to the corporations and not the people who elected them.
