Dear Senator Simon,

I live in Suwannee County and I am concerned at the direction our country is headed. The vast majority of people I know are frustrated that voices are not being heard.

In the 1960's Florida had a House of Represntatives that represented appximatley 56,000 people and a senate thar represented the 67 counties.

Today each of the 120 representives represents an average of 181,000 inhabutabts. If the people of Florida were as well represented today as they were 60 years ago we wouild have 388 representativea in the state legislature The Florida Hisue is  vastly under represented and the counties are no longer re[resented at all.

Because the state's Senatorial Districts are baed in population Miami-Dade County 6 times as many senators as the 11 counties in the 3rd Senatorial District.

The principle of equal representation of the states in the U.S. Senate should also be applied to the representstion of the counties in the legislatures  od the states.

Each of the  67 counties should have its own senator and the Florida House of Representarives was peoperly apportioned it would have 388 members.

Rather than allowing the massive number of ignorant and uninformed  voters to elect our county semators, I propose that the senator should be chosen by the Board of County Commissioners.
