One Person, One Vote

One of the purpose of the 14th Amendment was to guarantee that every person in every state would be equally represented. .

New Hampshire has one representative for every 1.3 million residents and California has one representative for every 489,000. If the principles of one person one vote was equally applied the size of legislative districts in all states would be equal.

New Hampshire has a population of just over 1 million and have 400 representatives while California has only 80 representatives and a population of over 38 million.

If the people in California and New Hampshire were equally represented   California would have 11,785 representatives  instead of only 80..

While the size of the average legislative districts in 45 of the 50 states is less than 50,000. Florida has one representative for every 168,000 residents and a total of 120 seats in the state legislature. Based on the principles of one person one vote, the people of Florida are entitled to be equally represented.

The state representatives  in Florida should vote to increase the number of seats in he state legislature from 120 to 360. By increasing the number of representatives the people would have a greater voice.
