Fifty years ago  I was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Cgrist of Latter  Day Saints because I beleived that God had appeared to Joseph Smith in a vision and that it was revealed to him that none of the churcues on earth at that timr were true and that he would he be an instrument in the hands of Gof to restore the true church and Gospel of Jesus Chridt.I was baptized because I wanted to beleiv that that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet pf

For the bext thirty five years I was a faithful member of the Church and accepted what the sanitized version of church history.

Then I began to ask questions and my tesimony of the trughfulness of church cause me to reinvestigate the church,

Rather than drinking the Mormon Kool Aid I decided to ask questions and seek evidence that the claims made ny the church leaders were in fact true, Instead of relying od my feelings, I decided that truth that truth should be revealed based on evidence.

The story of Santa Claus and the Easter  Bunny bring happiness to milliof childrens every year, but there is no compeeling evidence that  the stories are true.

When I discivreed that Joseph Smith;s First Vision was actaully his Forth Vision I began to question the validity of his account  of his so called First Vision.

Twelve years afterJoseph Smith was visited in the sacred grove he wrote his version of what he had heard and seem

He stated that in an answer to his humble payer he was vistited by by the Lord Jesus Christ. but in 1844 he edited the script a with his fourth version of the script that  he had been visited by God the Father and  his Son Jesus Christ.
