The 100 U.S.Senators and not the President should nominate candidates to fill vacancies in the Supreme Court, A panel of 9 senators should nominate 3 non partisan and unaffilated BAR Association Attornies to fill the vacancy.
The Governors of the 50 states should be called upon to decide which candidate would be chosen,
A panel of Senartors woulud be established to meet every few years to evaluate each of the judges job performance. If 6 of the 9 members of the panel believe that a justice's performance has been unsatisfactory, the panel will propose that impeachnent to the House of Representatives.
If the majority of the members of the House vote to impeach that Justice, the Senate will commence a trial to impeach that Justice.
Justices appointrd by the President tend to be more loyal to President than they are in honoring their oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution,
Transfering the power to nominate Justices from the President to the Senate would help to reduce the power of the President to influence the outcome of Supreme Court decisions.
A Justice can not serve two masters. Partisan politicians can not honor their oath while maintaining an allegiance to a political party.
In order for the court to issue an ruling 6 of the 9 Justices must agree.
