Direct Election of Senators
In a direct democratic election of senators virtually everyone gets to vote. The votes of the ignorant and uninformed count just as much as the votes of the intelligent and well informed voters.
If the majority of voters are ignorant it is likely that the candudates that get elected will be the least qualified.
Well educated and informed votes are much more likely to elect honest men and women of integrity who will honor their oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.
When U.S. Senators are elected directly by predomjnately uninformed voters the candidates with the most financial support and the least integrity will get elected.
When senators are chosen for the people by their state legislators it prevents the billionaires and Wall Street.Corporations from filling the seats with their puppets.
In order to prevent the direct election of senators the founding fathers in Article V probited Congress from ever depriving a stste of its equal sufferage in the senate without its consent.
Florida is one of seven states that have not given their consent and Florida has a right discontinue the direct election of senators.
It is the responsibility of the states to protect their people from the abuse of power by the central government.
The U,S, Senators do not represent the people directly. they represent the elected representatives of the people in their state.
