Dropping the bombs and killing over 100,000 innocent men, women and childrn was a war crime. The  crime was justified because of the feared consequence of the invasion would have resulted in even more civilian casualties.

Why was it necessary for the U.S. to invade Japan? Instead, we could have and should have blockcades their ports starved the Japanese into submission,
