Eugenics is a pseudo-science that sought to improve the human gene pool by preventing the physcially and mentally unfit  individuals from reproducing. In many states laws were passed that authorized the state to sterilize individuals that the state determine were likely to prouuce offsprings that would become a burden on scoiety.
