Direct Versus Indirect Elections
Ia pure or direct democracy individuals vote for themselves, but in a Constitutional Repulblic the people vote to have a representative vote for them.
Originally, the legislatures of the states chose their senators to represent the best interests of the state. This is an example of an in-direct election,
There is a direct correlation between the caliber of the candidates elected and the wisdon of those who casts the votes.
A large pool of uneducated voters makes it more difficult for the best candidates to get the most votes.
If the right to vote is limited to the honest, ethical and virtuous men and women who are well educated are likely to be the superior candidates
Should the votes individuals with IQ's under 80 have the same weight as people with IQ's of over 130 be counted the same?
Should voting be a right or a provilege rserved to the educated and well informed?
