When Congress votes to spend more money than they have budgeted. they borrow the difference and raise taxes. When you or I have a budget deficit we cover the shortfall by transferring the amount needed from our pool of assets.
Rather than transferring funds from their accumulated asset the government simply borrows the money from the Federal Reserve and then expects the people to bail them out.
Unfortunately both the democratic and republican parties are equally guilty of spending our money to benefit themselves and those who fund their elections.
The objective of both parties is to get their candidates elected so they can borrow as much money as possible to fund unconstitutional projects and policies that will ultimately lead to the downfall of our country.
Deficit spending has led to a financial crisis that threatens to reduce the United States to the status of a third world country. Congress is spending money they don't have on things we don't want, don't need and can't afford. Last year the Congress had to borrow over $1,000,0000,000,000 more than they collected in taxes.
Allowing Congress to spend our money on anything they want is like giving your children a credit to buy whatever they want. It is our responsibility to hold our elected officials accountable. The Constitution only authorizes Congress to spend money on repaying debts, providing for the common defense and general welfare. Allocating money for anything else is unconstitutional.
The number of people employed by the Federal government has risen to over 24,000,000 with average salaries of $63,000 annually in Wyoming and over $115,000 in Washington D.C. Click Here for the average salaries of government employees.
