Eleven of the of 39 signers the Constitution were the owners or managers of plantaions that relied on slave labor.These men had a personal financial interest in perpetuating the institution of slavery and withoutt rheir support the Constitution would never had been ratified.

Ten of our first 12 Presidents owned slaves, only John Adams an his son John Quincy did nor own  single slave.

Accoeding to the Declaration of Independence  governments derive their just power from the consent of the people, not by the consent of an oligarchy of  rich white land owners.
