Whoever said the crime doesn't pay was obviously not a Congressman. Benjamin Franklin observed that unscrupulous men and women would seek positions of power in order to satisfy the greed and lust for power. When Congressmen are rewarded by bankers and Wall Street corporations they gladly pass legislation that benefits the corporations rather than the people they were elected to serve.

By paying so called public servants generous salaries we satisfy their greed and when we fail tohold them accountable for their crimes we create an environment they control us and steal our wealth. The only difference between the Mafia and the government is the size of their crime syndicates. The Mafia employs thugs to extort money from business owners while the IRS agents pick our collective pockets for the benefit of financial elite.

It costs a candidate a lot of money to be elected to Congress and those who provide the funding of the campaigns do so with the understanding that their generosity will be rewarded after the election. We the people elect them, but they take their orders their financiers

It is no coincidence that most Congressmen and women are  lawyers who are paid well to lie, cheat and steal the wealth of the people they were elected to serve.
