Since the beginning of time there has always been powerful individuals motivated by greed and the lust for power who have dominated the governments of the world.

After winning their independence from Great Britain and the tyrannical King George, a contingent of Patriots met in Philadelphia to create a new form of government that would prevent tyranny and secure the God-given rights of the people.

The signers of the Declaration of Independence considered it to be a self-evident truth that men were endowed by their Creator with rights and that the role of government was to protect those rights from the abuse of power by tyrants.

The decided to create a republic governed by God's Laws and not by the laws written by the legislatures of men. The delegates of the states wrote a rulebook for the government that defined the role and responsibilities of the government officials.

The Constitution was based on a set of seven principles which would prevent the government from abusing the rights of the people.

The first principle was that the government was to be a limited government that had a short list of delegated powers and that powers not specifically enumerated in Article I Section 8 of the Constitution were expressly prohibited.

The third principle was popular sovereignty This principle established that the government would be controlled from the bottom up rather than the top down. The Constitution was written to govern the government and nt the people, The will of the majority.

The fourth and fifth principles were the separation of powers and the checks and balances. The powers of the central government were to be shared by three branches of government and between both a state and national government. This sixth principle is known as Federalism.

The seventh principle is republicanism which means that public servants shall be chosen to make important decisions for and in behalf of their constituents.

Even before the ink on the Constitution was even dry there were powerful men who began the effort to transform our Constitutional Republic into a democracy.

Most, if not all of the founding principles have been discarded and the ten planks of the Communist Manifesto have replaced them,
