Bicameral Legislaure

When the 17th Amendment was ratified in 1913 to allow for the direct election od Senators the balance of power between the large states and the small states was lost and the our bicameral legislature became a unicameral legislature with two houses representing the states with the largest populations.

The 12 states with the largest poulations  have more electoral vote s than the remaining 38 states. 

Initially the Senators were chosen by the legislators of the states to represent them and not the people at large. 

Congress has become a democratically elected oligarchy where the will of the mjority of career politicians has turned our rights into privileges.
