The United States is Not a Country?

When the Treaty of Paris was signed in 1783 to officiallty ebd the war for American Independence it was signed by agents of Great Britain and representatives od 13 separate and independent states. Like the European Union before them the former British colonies formed a union of sovereign states.

With the ratification of the Constitution the 13 thirteen  independent states became one nation. In 1871Congress turned our republican forn of government inyo into a corporation.
