Legislation that authorizes the government to use force to compel people to do anything that they would not voluntarily choose to do is unethical and is an edict and not a law. When you sustain unethical laws or edicts you cease to an ethical individual. In order to be true and faithful to the principles of truth, equality and justice we must refuse to comply with edicts.
A law promotes freedom while edicts seek to control people for the benefit of those that make the laws and those that control them. When we comply with these edicts we are giving our consent to tyrants to enslave us.
